Front-end Developer

D Magazine is looking for a front-end web developer. You will work on a variety of projects, from maintaining D Magazine’s websites to working on creating new tools and web applications. You will be working on a small team and will have a large influence over D’s digital initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Dream, plan, and execute big picture products that will contribute to the growth of our digital offerings
  • Maintain past projects
  • Manage 1 full time back-end developer, as well as contractors
  • Prioritize and manage list of technical requests
  • Create and manage yearly tech budget
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years professional experience in web/mobile development
  • HTML, CSS (SASS) and Javascript
  • Experience with Javascript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
  • Experience with version control such as Git
  • Experience with automated deployment tools such as gulp, grunt, or webpack
  • Comfortable with the command line
NICE TO HAVE:
  • Familiarity with PHP or other programming languages
  • Experience building themes and/or plugins for WordPress
  • SEO Expertise
  • Design Experience

Advertising Account Executive

The business group at D Magazine Partners is hiring a sales professional to join our team and represent Dallas Innovates and other group products. Dallas Innovates is a partnership between D Magazine Partners and the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce. Launched in February, this new initiative serves to promote the region as a hub for innovation, creativity and forward thinking businesses. We are currently interviewing for a highly-motivated and creative advertising sales professional to join our team. We’re looking for someone with the ability to hit the ground running, close business and who is motivated to make money. The sky is the limit.

SALES ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create new business opportunities through cold calling, networking and meeting with business executives
  • Thoroughly qualify new opportunities to determine whether prospects are good potential clients
  • Manage relationships throughout the entire sales cycle, from initial contact through execution of the client campaign
  • Develop creative campaigns / proposals that help clients achieve their business objectives
  • Consistently win new business and achieve personal revenue goals
  • Expand and maintain existing client relationships
REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE, AND SALES ATTRIBUTES OF IDEAL CANDIDATES:
  • Bachelor’s degree + 1-3 years sales experience
  • Very strong prospecting skills. Committed to consistent daily selling behaviors
  • Well-networked in the Dallas marketplace. Should be involved with industry associations and have a strong personal network
  • Ability to get in front of C-Suite executives
  • Consultative selling experience a must
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Experience with and comfort entertaining clients in social setting
  • Exceptional organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Business Group: Sales Manager

ROLE OBJECTIVE:

In addition to being responsible for all revenue streams, this position serves as the magazine(s) ambassador and advocate within the organization and within the community.

DIRECT SALES RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for long term and short-term strategic planning, revenue generation, corporate partnerships, community impact initiatives and overall market growth
  • Create and manage advertising budgets and department P&Ls
  • Establish and maintain key client relationships
  • C-Suite contract negotiations with clientele on various joint projects, sales and marketing plans as well strategic alliances
  • Negotiate and close advertising deals in accordance with our pricing guidelines
  • Contract fulfillment
  • Generate new revenue streams
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, training and mentoring Account Executives and Client Operations Managers on advertising teams
  • Manage assigned Client Operations Managers so that clients receive exceptional service
  • Report on assigned publication’s sales pipeline weekly
  • Maintain clean account details in CRM system
  • Oversee and create content for all marketing collateral for sales opportunities
  • Lead cross-team brainstorming on new revenue generating programs
  • Consult with VP, Advertising and other team leaders on sales growth strategies
  • Create, host and oversee 20+ corporate events per year
  • Help Account Executives problem solve during client negotiations
  • Scheduling and attending client meeting to present proposals
  • Attend civic and business events as brand ambassador
QUALIFICATIONS:

10+ years of direct media sales experience with a proven track record of growing revenue in challenging environments.
